The bluesign FINDER was established in 2002 for implementing active chemical management in the textile industry. It exists as a web-based, advanced search engine for manufacturers containing bluesign APPROVED chemical products that meet the bluesign CRITERIA and therefore the highest level of chemical product verification. It also contains all important information needed to implement these products in compliance with the bluesign SYSTEM. This most comprehensive positive list of chemical products is always up to date and provides relevant information to minimize risks for people and the environment as well as improve consumer safety. Bluesign has assessed more than 25,000 chemical products against more than 900 hazardous substances, with over 600 substances that are banned and are therefore eliminated from the textile supply chain. The unique bluesign CHEMICAL ASSESSMENT is based on a risk assessment approach including a full hazard assessment of all substances used for a chemical product and exposure assessment on all relevant applications for the chemical product. The chemical data used for the assessment are provided by on-site assessed bluesign SYSTEM PARTNER chemical suppliers and verified by bluesign’s chemical experts. The bluesign FINDER includes more than 12,000 bluesign® APPROVED chemical products from over 170 chemical suppliers.
